Glorious Food: Called Kare-Kare

This is what I missed so much back in my Hometown. I ate as much as I can while I have the chance. Drooling still after months of being back in the US, and wish that I have all the ingredients with me so I could make the same kind as what it this one taste.

It might take many more cooking before the perfection, however trying is what I could do for now. Besides that's where we have to do right? In order to master one thing we want to master.

This is Kare-Kare as we called in the Philippines. Mostly Filipino loves this dish. It contains oxtail or pig's leg part. Eggplant, asparagus beans [sitaw], bokchoy, seasonings, peanut butter and most likely a shrimp paste.

Other's would skip the shrimp paste for all doesn't like the taste or they are allergic to shrimp. So, instead of betting mixed together, they separate them in a small bowl and put it near the Kare-Kare dish when it's being served.

Someday, when I get the right meat, I'll be able to show it here if I did it right or not.

I am a very picky eater. That sounds very different.

Looks tempting with all its colour, one thing I have never tried is eggplant.

not sure it's for me but my son would totally try it

Find a local small butcher. My father always tried to get things in like that when he was alive and had his business. He used to tell the customers he would get it in if they would share the recipe!

My all time favorite food ever! I love the peanut taste in it and also the green beans! Oh now I'm hungry!

This sounds really interesting. I love reading about the different things people eat.

I haven't heard of this before. I love learning about different cultures food.

Oh my goodness, can I have some please. I miss that, can't cook it here because my son is allergic to peanut..

I want some! Waaa... I only have Mama Sita's Kare-kare seasoning mixes here.

I am so happy that I have someone (our new friends here) who cooks Kare-Kare so well and that she always gives me a plateful of that dish every time she makes one. Oh I miss Nanay Lita's Kare-kare. I hope she cooks soon so that I can have one again!

I want some of this! Since, I gotten here in the U.S. I never had a chance of eating this dish. Miss this so much!
